OPEN ART ROUTE ZUIDOOST EVENT CAMPAIGN

 

I was asked to join the Open Art Route Zuidoost team for the social media marketing (set-up the social media strategy and creating content) and manage content for the website.

As a result I made a social media strategy for the three important social media channels: the official Facebook page, Facebook event and Instagram page. The content mission was to increase the online presence for the Open Art Route 2017 and attract visitors. The main target group was Amsterdammers.

There were also a couple of important communication points to keep in mind:

 

~ High threshold through (mental) “distance” for many Amsterdammers

~ To get people to come to the Open Art Route 2017 in Amsterdam Zuidoost

~Focus on the high quality art that is made in Zuidoost

~ Mini festival feeling

The Open Art Route Zuidoost Facebook page has the most followers but since our goal was to increase the online presence of the event and attracting visitors, it was therefore vital to spread the content out over this page and the event page. Hence, on the official Facebook page I’d focus on information about locations, partners, publications about the event and previews for content on the event page.

On the event page, the content was more focused on the artist that would participate in the Open Art Route 2017, other programming, behind the scenes, updates on the event and hyping people to come.

 

The content that I used is a mix of user generated content from the artists, video content and graphics.

INSTAGRAM

 

Instagram was implemented into the social media strategy because it’s a very visual event and a lot of people in our target audience are on Instagram. Here we shared a combination of the content from the Facebook page and event.

Museumnacht is a big event in Amsterdam. On this night almost all museums in Amsterdam and landmarks open their doors. As visitors of Museumnacht you can visit all of these locations. Most museums also organize special things to do and/or parties.

 

To piggyback on the succes of Museumnacht, we posted a short video with the locations in Zuidoost that were participating and are also on the Open Art Route 2017.
