ietsmethaar is a local hair salon in Amersfoort. The client came to us after she just recently revamped her hair salon interior. With that, the brand needed a rebranding to match the new direction she was headed in with. Instead of soft, pastel colors she wanted something that fit the brands’ new aesthetic: millennial minimalism.
One of the important requirements of the rebranding was to keep certain elements that her clientele was grown accustomed to. She wanted something that felt fresh and also reflected her 15+ years of experience in the beauty industry.
The main goal of the rebranding of ietsmethaar is to create an unique brand identity that was still recognizable for the clientele she already has. The clientele ietsmethaar focuses on are city people around the Amersfoort area that value hair & beauty treatments. They’re also loyal clients that don’t just chose ietsmethaar for the treatments but also for the connection between the brand and client.
To start the project off, we defined the brand purpose, values and vision of the brand. In the end we landed on ‘beauty that suits your inner strength’. ietsmethaar is not just a hair salon but also a hub to connect with people and creating looks that reflect and inspire clients to be their best selfs.
In the end we’ve created a playful design that is elegant and has a millennial vibe. We decided to upgrade the ietsmethaar icon in a solid color — an element the clients are acquainted with and refers to Lilian’s last name ‘Prins’. With contrasting colors, reflecting the interior, to play with, the options are endless to create and to connect with clients.
All the brand elements — from the brand identity with logo suite to colors to materials — all have a cohesive look to build recognition for the brand. And by following the brand guidelines ietsmethaar can professional build their brand.
The project deliverables are a mix of typical hair salon marketing materials & new ways to connect with clients. From price lists to social content to scanable QR-code Vcard design to business cards shaped into arcs. For the print materials we’ve selected paper options that reflected the brands’ aesthetic: a natural paper option with texture. And for the online designs we’ve streamlined it with use of shapes (arcs and swirls) and contrasting colors to create texture in the designs.

The bridal book works as a lead magnet for brides that want to hire ietsmethaar and Lilan for their upcoming wedding. As a hairstylist and makeup artist, Lilian provides creates the most beautiful looks throughout the year for brides. The looks are based on the purpose of ietsmethaar: ‘beauty that suits your inner strength’. It is important that the bride knows what to expect when they hire Lilian for their bridal beauty look.
The bridal book is also translated into sharable Instagram Stories so potential bridal clients can find all the relevant information quickly.
The bridal flyer is an elegant design printed on natural, thicker paper with texture and is accompanied by a tracing paper layer for extra dimension. The overall look of the design is based on high-end wedding invitations. This makes the design stand out but also radiates her professionalism. It also shows which end customer she wants to attract.
There are two business card designs for this project: one that can be used for both customers and partners and one specifically for customers so that they can quickly book an appointment. For the second design, a QR code has been created that leads to Treatwell where the customer can choose and schedule treatments.
Both designs are printed on thicker, textured paper creating an elegant look. The first design has an arc shape, referring to the mirrors in the hair salon. This gives the business card an unique look with a recognizable reference.
There are several highlight templates made for the ietsmethaar Instagram account. Most customers who are interested in a brand want to be able to quickly find all relevant information to make the choice whether they want to purchase products or services. The fewer steps they have to take, the better. That is why Instagram highlight covers have been made for ietsmethaar that immediately show which information can be found where. Plus we’ve also created templates for the bridal book, the price list and contact information.
A new price list is a must for a reopening and rebranding of a hair salon. This is one is made in both print and digital version — which is always included with flyer designs.
In addition to the above materials, the legal documents have also been adapted to the new branding, an invoice design has been created and postcard designs are being developed at the moment.
