COLOURFUL REBEL HOLIDAY GIFT CARD CAMPAIGN

 

For our Deep Dive we got the challenge to create a concept for an cross-media campaign around the launch of Colourful Rebel’s new holiday gift card. Colourful Rebel is a young clothing brand with easy-to-wear clothing for women and men between 18 – 25 years old.

 

The only criteria we got were:

~ The concept is for an online & offline campaign

~ Channels to use: Facebook, Instagram, their newsletter and their offline store

~ In line with the Colourful Rebel branding: the young and restless, a group of friends you want to be a part of & humor

~ Not too much rebellion

 

This campaign was created with Els Quartel, Isidora Badovinac & Marrie de Priester as part of our traineeship at The Talent Institute.

COLOURFUL REBEL HOLIDAY GIFT CARD CAMPAIGN

ONLINE CAMPAIGN: #REBELWITHACARD

 

We called the online campaign for the gift card launch #RebelwithaCard. We wanted a playful and memorable name that was easy to hashtag on social media. To promote the campaign, we put together a CR squad with influencers that the target group would want to be a part of.

 

There are three different layers within this campaign:

~ Introduction gift card on social media

~ Individual influencer landing pages

~ Posts on the biggest social media channels of the influencers

~ Newsletter campaign

OFFLINE CAMPAIGN: GIFT BOOTH

 

Colourful Rebel also wanted to have an offline campaign for the launch of their gift card: the GIFt booth. Our idea was to use their Instagramable store and put a GIF generator in the lounge space before the changing rooms. It works the same as a photo booth but instead of a photo you can make a GIF. Tying the cross-media campaign together.

 

Everyone who comes into the store can make their own GIF, send the GIF to their smartphone and share it on social media with the hashtag #RebelwithaCard. This way Colourful Rebel can create really easy, shareable user generated content and set up contests to win a gift card.

Influencer marketing is a new way for companies to advertise their products in a more credible way than traditional advertisement. You have three different scales of influencers: micro influencers, upcoming influencers and top influencers. For this campaign we choose Dutch upcoming and top influencers.

 

We selected women that live colorful lives and have that squad vibe going on that people want to be a part of.  The first influencer was Claartje Rose because she is already a familiar face for Colourful Rebel fans. Then chose two of her friends to create an authentic girl squad. This resulted in the three ladies for the #CRsquad.

 

All three have their own landing page where they showcase which items they would get with the gift card and how they would style it. Each page also has direct links to all the products.

 

The second part of the influencer marketing campaign is to use their reach and credibility to push the Colourful Rebel gift card through their biggest channels. For Monica Gueze this is her YouTube channel, Noor de Groot her blog ‘Queen of Jetlags’ and Instagram for Claartje Rose.
